Sneak Preview: Zarfas Family

Last week I had the privilege of photographing the Zarfas family. I know that they are probably excited to see some of the pictures taken so I decided to let a few leak out. They were a lot of fun to work with and have the cutest little girl named Presley (I LOVE that name for a girl). As you can see from the pictures they are a gorgeous family and I'm beginning to wonder if I need to start seeking out some normal looking people, like myself, because it seems most of my subjects are very attractive. :) The rest should be done within the week but until then, enjoy!

I remember this exact couch being at Skateworld when I used to go there growing up.

I have really been wanting to do a shoot with similar style to Aaron Ruell's photography . You would probably know him from his roll as Kip on Napoleon Dynamite. What a lot of people don't know is that he is also a great photographer and did the art direction and stills for that movie. He also has done a lot of other commercials and music videos. Well, I finally got my chance last weekend with the perfect setting: Skateworld in Hillsboro. It hasn't changed since it opened some 28 years ago and I LOVED shooting there. I've never been able to shoot in a place so frozen in time. The next week or so will feature photos from this shoot. I was also lucky enough to find perfect models for this kind of odd and quirky style. Enjoy! :)

This is a picture from a shoot I did for a business that is housed in a historic building in Wilsonville.

Road trip!

This and the previous image were taken from a road trip we took from Oregon to Utah. I have a few photographer friends who are film only and this is my attempt to imitate their unique look that I love.

This was and continues to be my favorite place to get a burrito in the world. Oh Cafe Rio, why do you tease me so and have to be so far away.

Although some have said it looks like a Jr High School, it was my favorite of the bunch at the street of dreams.

Another couple that was a blast to shoot and who were good sports in letting experiment with some different poses that I hadn't tried before. Although I am technically not allowed to call them "engagement" photos, they are pretty darn close (it's a long story :).

Wilsonville vs Canby

I've started photographing my little brother's football games to practice my sports photography and to have some fun. The next several days will feature photos from a recent game versus Canby. Although they gave a valiant effort, they ended up losing the game. As always, prints may be purchased here.
